Tanzania Film Premiere & Worship Night
Thursday, August 22 | 6:30pm | Shea Worship Center
Join us for an exclusive film premiere of a powerful new documentary about our Tanzania Project that will be shown at this special all-church worship event. Come see this in-depth look at the work God is doing in our two schools in the communities of Mairowa and Kondoa through the eyes of a sponsor visiting for the first time. This will be a unique opportunity for our entire church to gather and pray for the students and teachers in our schools, worship together, and praise God for what He has done and continues to do through our Tanzania Project.
Childcare is provided for ages 5 and younger.
Women’s Tanzania Trip
September 20 – October 1, 2024 | Tanzania, Africa
Cost: $3,800
Join this team of SBC women to offer refreshment and encouragement to women in the trenches of ministry and teaching in the Maasai community of Mairowa. Celebrating the graduation of the students from our primary school will also be a part of this trip.
2024 Tanzania Primary Graduation
September 24 – October 5, 2024 | Tanzania, Africa
Cost: $3,800
Help us celebrate with our graduating classes in Mairowa and Kondoa. This will be a proud moment for our students, their families, and their supporting U.S. families. If you sponsor a child currently in 7th grade, you will want to be part of this team, but all sponsors are welcome. If you’d like to see first-hand the power of a good education in the lives of individuals as well as communities in a developing country, come along with us!
Open to: Anyone, especially sponsors and families (children 10 and over are welcome)
Women’s England Trip
February 28–March 9, 2025 | Teeside, England
Cost: $2,300
This team of SBC women will work alongside the local church in Teeside to equip ministry leaders and help them care for single mothers and grandmothers who are first-generation Christ-followers.
European Leadership Forum
May 20-31, 2025 | Poland
Cost: $1825 (airfare is additional)
Although most Christians don’t think of Europe as a spiritually needy continent, just 3% of Europeans identify as evangelicals. To address this need, SBC has made a major commitment to minister to leaders throughout Europe by sending logistical support teams to the annual European Leadership Forum in Poland. Sponsored by the Forum of Christian Leaders (FOCL), the European Leadership Forum is a strategic effort to train, encourage, and strengthen more than 800 evangelical leaders from 59 countries who often serve in antagonistic and isolated environments. Members of the SBC volunteer team provide vital support to make the Forum a success. Serving on the team is an energizing, humbling, and unforgettable experience!

Registration for the 2025 Forum, scheduled for May 20-31, 2025, will open in August.

Mexico Yucatan Trip
July 20-27, 2024 | Yucatan, MX
Cost: $2,250
In the lush tropical jungle of the Yucatan, a mission hospital has been established to serve the poorest of the poor. Thousands of people are helped each year and lives are changed. This team will provide medical/dental care, conduct a VBS program, and do outreach in the nearby villages. This is a great trip for families!
One Meal

Food is necessary to life, yet a great number of people around the globe struggle with this very basic need. Special Ministries, in conjunction with our ministry partner ZimZam Global, is spearheading an effort to change lives in Ecuador! We are having a Food Packing Event at SBC where young, old, abled, and disabled will come together to pack meals that provide nutrition to those who are struggling to sustain themselves.

Bunk Bed Build
Saturday, May 11 | Sleep in Heavenly Peace Workshop (near Sky Harbor Airport)
Early Shift: 7–9:30am
Late Shift: 10am-12:30pm
Are you looking for a fun volunteer opportunity that serves kids in need? Join us as we partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace to build bunk beds for foster kids and families. We will prep the wood (cut, drill, sand), stain it, and then assemble the bunk beds. SHP has a brand-new air-conditioned facility where we will be building the beds, and you can choose from two shifts: 7-9:30am or 10am-12:30pm.
Location: Sleep in Heavenly Peace Workshop (near Sky Harbor Airport)

Volunteers Needed: Adults preferred. Children over 12 must be accompanied by a guardian.
