Foster Kinship Adoption Support Group

Thursdays, November 14 and December 12 | 6-8pm | Shea A6

SBC’s Foster, Kinship, and Adoptive Parents Support Group is a safe place to discuss the joys and challenges of raising kids who are navigating difficult circumstances. We share resources for caregivers and create a confidential, non-judgmental environment where you can laugh, cry, lean on, and learn from others who are walking in your shoes. The group is guided by trained SBC facilitators who want to walk alongside you.

Your group leaders:

Melanie Harris

During our 10-year journey, we fostered, foster/adopted, provided respite, and also privately adopted. God grew our family through adoption, fostering, and biological. As a family, we enjoy hiking, traveling, and playing together but most of all we love our time together as a family and laughing. We are passionate about serving God’s children in all ways that the Lord leads us.

Natalie Bartolini

Natalie’s first encounter with foster care came at an early age when her parents began their foster care journey. Over 17 years, the Bartolini’s fostered 30 kids in their home, adopting two of Natalie’s brothers along with Natalie’s sister. While in her early teens, Natalie began volunteering at Royal Family Kids Camp & TRAC Camp and this summer she completed her 18th camp. Seven years ago the Bartolinis started Firm Foundation Youth Home and opened Gigi’s Cottage, a home for girls in Arizona’s foster care system. When she was old enough, Natalie began officially working there. Most recently Natalie obtained her license as a Registered Nurse and is about to complete her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University. Natalie brings a very unique perspective to the foster care journey – she understands the challenges this type of family ministry brings and has practical knowledge of a trauma-informed response.
