Parent-Child Dedications

Legacy Class | October 27 | 9am | Shea E28
At this insightful class, parents will learn what it means to impart a godly legacy to their children and how to write a special blessing to share with them. Hosted by Children’s Minister Karen Montgomery, this class is open to all parents and is a prerequisite for parents who would like to dedicate their children at one of our upcoming child dedication services. There is no need to register ahead of time for the class. All are welcome!

Parent-Child Dedication | November 23/24
Parent-child dedication is a time for parents to publicly commit themselves to raise their children in the instruction and discipline of the Lord,  giving opportunities to know God and establish a personal relationship with Christ. It’s also a time for family and friends to show their support and intention to help these parents with their commitment to their children. There is no “saving grace” attached to this ceremony; it is simply a statement of intent and desire.

Parent-child dedication services are scheduled periodically throughout the year during our weekend services. Participants don’t need to be church members but need to be able to answer “yes” to the following questions:

  1. Do you acknowledge your child as a gift from God?
  2. Do you commit yourself to live a godly life before your child so that he or she will have an example to follow?
  3. Do you commit yourself to give your child an opportunity to hear the gospel so that he or she might be able to have a personal relationship with Christ?
  4. Do you commit yourself to raise your child in the instruction and discipline of the Lord?

Those wishing to participate in a dedication service are asked to complete and submit the online registration form below.
