Rejoice Always

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.Philippians 4:4-7

In times of uncertainty, I love to return to familiar passages highlighted in my Bible. Philippians 4:4-7 is one of my favorites that I return to often. This verse not only instructs me, it comforts me. 

In my own words, the above verse sounds like this: Find your joy in the Lord always, and choose joy when times are tough. Be gracious to everyone, especially right now when the world needs grace, especially the grace offered by our Lord. God is near, you can depend on His presence, His promises, and His Love. Worry is everywhere, on the news, in people’s eyes, and in their words, so please choose to bring it all to Jesus. Prayer is a beautiful gift to connect with our Lord, to bring our worries, petitions, and requests, but please have an attitude of thanksgiving. Remember, our God is a God of peace, and He offers a peace so real that it will be a guard over our hearts and minds when we center on Him!

Friends, the Scriptures offer hope, encouragement, promises, and wisdom for us. As you read your favorite Scriptures, read them in a personal way, letting them sink into the depth of your hearts!  Please continue to stand on God’s Word and pray for each other that they would stand strong too!
