Keys to Successful Living

In 2 Corinthians 13:11-14, Paul gives four keys to a successful life:

Make the commitment to be of good cheer. Paul writes, “farewell.” You can exercise your faith to fare well, trusting in the good will of God for the ever-unfolding details of your life.

Keep striving toward self-improvement. Paul writes, “be complete.” To truly “fare well,” you must be willing to perfect yourself through the conviction, help, and encouragement of the Holy Spirit.

Passionately pursue unity with other Christ followers. Paul writes, “be of good comfort.” Each of us must fervently seek the Lord and be willing to do anything and everything possible to move forward toward unity.

Put people first. Paul concludes, writing, “live in peace.” Remember, people are more important than a ministry and people are the mission. If you seek to do these things, look at what God promises: The God of love and peace will be with you.
