How To Handle Culture

a Study on 2 Corinthians

Today, we find ourselves in a culture with sophisticated political and economic structures, the envy of many nations around us. At the same time, our culture is confused spiritually, and the level of decadence is rivaling the Roman culture in which Paul wrote to the Corinthians. Although the Corinthian church was growing in the Spirit, they were marred by sin and were outcasts from their culture. In our culture, we’re quickly moving toward the same outcast status as Christ-followers. What can we learn from the Corinthian church and Paul’s exhortation to them as we relate to our culture today? What does God want from us? This new series will challenge us to think biblically about how we engage with a culture that is increasingly secular, and it starts with leading people to the cross of Jesus Christ.
