June 4, 2020

As Pastor Jamie mentions above, we will begin the regathering process at our campuses this weekend, June 6 and 7. God created us for community, and we long to be together with one another to worship. We will begin our regathering process with caution and care, putting many safety procedures in place and limiting capacity in our worship spaces through a reservation system, ensuring plenty of space for safe distancing. We recognize that people have varying levels of comfort about returning to our campuses and will continue to provide excellent online services and groups for those who choose to stay at home. As we navigate the process of opening on-campus ministry and services, our pastors and staff remain active in serving and caring for the SBC congregation and our community. We are available to meet your needs, are praying for you, and look forward to seeing you soon.

Worship with SBC

If you choose to join us for on-campus services, please sign up here. We will continue broadcasting services on Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 9 and 11am via our livestream webpage, SBC AppYouTube Live, Facebook and Roku or Apple TV.

Stay Connected in Community

We invite you to interact with us through our social media channels and subscribe to our weekly e-news where we share videos, devotionals, and important news and updates. To learn about ways you can serve our community or donate needed items, visit our local outreach page.

While several ministry activities on our campuses are currently paused, many groups are meeting online and connecting via screens and phones. View upcoming events and classes, learn about new groups we’re starting, or contact us for more info. Our pastors and staff are committed to being available to meet with you to provide counseling, help or prayer.

Keep Your Kids & Youth Engaged

Although our Discovery Ministry will not begin meeting on campus quite yet, if you have kids, they can stay connected and grow by participating in weekly lessons, activities and worship as well as daily fun on social media. A new lesson is posted every Saturday and we’ve also created a Summer Family Fun calendar. Connect with the Discovery Kids team on their Facebook page as well!

Our youth in grades 5-12 are remaining connected on Instagram TV and YouTube. They have live worship on Wednesdays and Sundays on Instagram; teaching and virtual small groups on Zoom; and daily posts and interaction with their YTH pastors on Instagram.

Frequently Asked Questions

How soon will on-campus services resume? We are regathering for services starting June 6 and 7 at all campuses and all service times (Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9 and 11am). We will limit capacity in each service to around 25% to ensure a minimum of six feet between parties. Rooms will be sanitized between services, and we are taking extra measures to protect your health and safety. We understand that many will choose to continue worshipping with us online, and we respect and encourage that, especially for those who are older or have health issues.

How can I sign up to attend a service? You may choose a service to attend here. We apologize if the service you prefer is full, but invite you to try one of our other options. Space is limited due to the precautions we are taking to provide spacing between people and protect your risk of exposure to potential virus spread.

Will masks be required on campus? Although not required, we strongly encourage those who attend services or groups on our campuses to wear masks, especially while singing. All SBC staff and volunteers will be wearing masks while serving you. Our worship team and pastors will wear masks when they are not on stage. While on stage, they are maintaining a minimum of 6’ between themselves.

Can I watch services anytime or just when they are live? Each weekend, we broadcast services on our Live Stream webpage, SBC App, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram at our normal service times (5pm Saturday; 9 and 11am Sunday). The service is also online throughout the week on our Messages webpage (under the Watch menu) or under Messages on our app.

Is the SBC Office open? The office is now open Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Other office hours will be added soon.

Is the Cafe open? The Shea Café is open Monday through Thursday, 8am-3pm; Saturday, 3-7:30pm; and Sunday, 7am-2pm. Stop by to enjoy a bite to eat, grab a coffee, or browse the books and gifts in our bookstore.

What is the plan for VBS and summer camps? We are hosting our annual Summer Arts Camp during the week of June 22-26. Learn more and sign up here. Out of an abundance of caution, we made the decision to cancel this year’s VBS and summer camps for YTH HSM (grades 9-12) and Camp 34 (grades 3-4).

Are summer mission trips still planned? YTH summer mission trips were cancelled, but we are in close contact with our global partners and will share news from their countries in the coming weeks about fall mission trips. We’ve launched some exciting virtual mission trips for you to enjoy! Find out more here.

What should I do if I need help? If you have pastoral or other needs, we’re here for you. Please reach out by calling our main number, 480.824.7200, or our Pastor on Call at 480.334.4102. Leave a message and we will return your call as quickly as possible.
