Colossians and Philemon (by Max Lucado) – A Bible Study for MOMs
Teacher: Brooke Hellestrae
Do you remember when God amazed you?  When He marvelously provided for you?  Sadly, sometimes we forget God’s mercy, we lose sight of His grace.  The early believers in the Colossian church had forgotten.  Instead, they were impressed by spiritual claims from false teachers, and the church was starting to add some “extras” to salvation.  The Apostle Paul’s letters reminded them that Jesus is all we ever need.  As Paul encourages and challenges us, he gives principles for living and interacting at work, in our families, and in our churches. Paul’s letters remind us of the difference Christ makes in every aspect of our lives.

Wednesdays, January 23–April 3, 9:30-11:30am, Family Life Building (childcare available with registration, $30)

Come join us as we explore what this looks like practically for us, so that this reality can transform how we view and live our lives.

Messiah in the Old Testament
Teacher: Cathy Wilson
What must it have been like to be an Israelite looking forward to the arrival of Messiah?  Can we fathom the depth of joy that was experienced by the godly few who had yearned for the Messiah’s arrival?  Our focus will be on the progressive revelation of Israel’s Messiah in the Old Testament.  Messianic fervor was high in the days prior to Jesus announcing Himself to Israel at the Jordan River, at His baptism.  What happened?  And, for us today, consider…without the profile of the Messiah in the pages of the Old Testament, it would be impossible to identify Jesus as the Promised One, the Messiah.

Ten Women of the Bible (by Max Lucado)
Teachers: Pencie Culiver and Eva Williams
In this class, you will study the lives of 10 pivotal women in the Bible—Sarah, Abigail, Esther, the Samaritan Woman, Mary Magdalene, and a few others. They lived in a different world than our own, but we find ourselves facing the same issues they faced. Yet even more, these women show us there is a God who sees us where we are and loves us for who we are. Through exploring their lives, we will gain access to see how God shapes lives, rescues hearts, heals sicknesses, raises what was dead to life, and assigns high callings to those who choose to follow Him and have faith in Him. Through exploring their lives, we will see how He can bring all those same things to ours.

Daniel (by Beth Moore)

In this Bible study book by Beth Moore, you will explore the prophet Daniel’s life and how it gives us a perspective to gain in the midst of our culture and lives. The prophet Daniel faced unbelievable pressures to compromise his faith, to live in a hostile culture, and to confront temptations and threats. Today, believers in Jesus Christ face many of the same trials. Join this class as we dive into these realities and learn how to glorify God and love others well in the midst of them.

Finding Freedom – Continuing
Teacher: Deb Pirtle
God has an incredible purpose for us in this life. However, it is easy to become weighed down with cares, defeat, past hurts, and other areas of sin that keep us in bondage and away from His purposes. These hindrances steal our intimacy with Christ and the joy of our salvation. Put simply, this year-long class is about becoming more like Jesus and reflecting His love and power to everyone around us. Freedom is about being released to love and serve Jesus wholeheartedly.
