We’re so excited to bring Winter Wonder to our church and community this Christmas season. Now in its tenth year, Winter Wonder features a cast of more than 300 and includes humorous sketches, dramatic dance numbers, Broadway-style music and lights, a full choir and orchestra, and a live nativity. It’s a beautiful way to experience the joy and wonder of Christmas.

Our Gift to the Community

Each year, SBC partners with local organizations to make a difference in our community. Over the past nine years, nearly $800K in Winter Wonder donations and ticket sales have funded projects to meet the needs of kids and families in our city.

In 2019, Winter Wonder giving and ticket sales will provide resources, food, and after-school leadership and spiritual mentoring for children in the North Phoenix Neighborhood near our SBC Cactus campus.

2019 projects include:

  • Providing weekend food packs for more the 200 students for the school year at local Title 1 elementary and middle schools in cooperation with our local partner Paradise Valley Emergency Food Bank.
  • Renovating a Teen Center and purchasing 100 computers for Greenway Middle School.
  • Purchasing 20 computers for kids at Palomino and Greenway to support our ministry partner, MentorKids USA, who will provide after-school mentoring, homework help, and more. MentorKids teaches reading and life skills while demonstrating the love of Christ to kids in marginalized neighborhoods and schools.

Would you like to be a part of the team that serves our Winter Wonder guests? Volunteer roles include greeting, helping with parking, taking tickets, seating guests, serving refreshments, caring for kids and more. We need about 100 people to serve at each of our nine performances. Come join us! It’s a fun experience and a great way to meet new people.

Why does SBC sell tickets to Winter Wonder?

Offering tickets in advance gives everyone an opportunity to reserve seats for the performance(s) of their choice and avoid standing in line for hours with uncertainty about getting seats. In addition, rather than receiving an offering during the performances to support special projects in our community, ticket proceeds are used to fund these projects.

How do Winter Wonder ticket sales support community outreach?
Community outreach remains a key focus of Winter Wonder. Ticket proceeds will be directed to selected giving projects that focus on making a difference in our community, specifically with children and families. This year, we  will be providing resources, computers, weekend food packs, and other support for kids and teachers in local Title 1 schools.

How much do tickets cost?
Reserved seats are $6, $11 and $19 and are available for online purchase. Price points and a seat map may be viewed when tickets go on sale. An option to donate to our community outreach projects above and beyond the purchased ticket price will be available on the website during checkout.

Note that tickets are non-refundable, but may be given to others or turned in to be donated by visiting the front office or calling the hotline at 480.824.0555.

Are there comp or discounted tickets for volunteers, performers or staff?
Because ticket costs are reasonable and will support worthy causes, we are asking each person to purchase a reserved seat for the show they will attend.

Is my ticket tax-deductible?
Ticket purchases are not tax-deductible; however, any donation to the specific projects above and beyond the ticket purchase will be deductible, and a confirmation email will be your receipt.

Is childcare available?
Yes, free childcare is available for children five and under at all performances. Please register here for childcare.

Is there designated handicap / special assistance seating and will these patrons be allowed early entry?
Yes, there are designated handicap, special assistance and companion seats available for purchase at each performance. Doors will open to all guests 30 minutes prior to the start of each show.

How long is each performance?
The performances are just under two hours, including a 15-minute intermission.

Will the Café be open?
Yes, the Café will offer grab n’ go food and beverage items before each performance and during intermission.

Will there be regular worship services on December 7/8 and 14/15, the weekends of Winter Wonder?
Yes, all regularly scheduled services at our campuses will be held.
