The New Testament book of Hebrews was written to Jewish believers who were enduring persecution, encouraging them to consider the amazing person and work of Jesus Christ. He is supreme over all creation and abolished the old way of approaching God, replacing it with a new and perfect covenant. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled the sacrificial system and is the ultimate high priest who can bring us into God’s presence.

Because of Jesus, believers then and now can rise above the world’s trials through faith in Him. Because of Jesus, we have a way to know and experience God. We have a Savior who understands everything we’re going through. And we have a high priest who identifies with us in our weaknesses. The powerful truths in Hebrews are just as relevant to Christ-followers today and can equip us to live out our faith, persevere through trials, and run the race before us with endurance and hope.
