Global Counseling

Trauma is now considered an international epidemic. As we look at the many crises in our world, we see how trauma influences our lives and can break our hearts.  People are increasingly being traumatized by violence, natural disasters, diseases, ethnic conflict, domestic violence, sexual abuse, displacement, moral injury, and human trafficking. These experiences occur in our own country and even in our own neighborhoods. Christ calls the Church to bring hope, healing, and restoration to these survivors of trauma.

SBC’s Global Counseling ministry is responding to that call by taking lay counseling to the brokenhearted and the vulnerable people throughout God’s kingdom.

Who we are: Lay Counselors, Stephen Ministers, Licensed Clinicians and Support Group Facilitators who are passionate champions of the Lord with a heart to walk alongside those who are suffering from trauma, abuse, neglect and “compassion fatigue.”

Where we serve: Locally, Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Latin America

Training & Support: We periodically offer the Healing the Wounds of Trauma program from the Trauma Institute of the American Bible Society as well as compassion fatigue and soul care programs. We would love to walk through the journey of healing heart wounds with you and, in turn, help you learn how to help others.
