Back-to-School Shoes & Teacher Gifts

July 18–August 1 (all donations due July 25) | All Campuses

A new school year brings a sense of hope and excitement, and students and teachers need shoes and supplies. Due to the lasting impact of COVID-19, many families will struggle to afford these necessary items. Join us as we support local students by giving them new shoes and socks, and support local teachers by giving them a gift and some supplies they need to set kids up for success.

For 24 years, SBC has partnered with local ministries and schools to give away hundreds of pairs of new shoes. This year, we will give away more than 525 pairs of new shoes. Our local outreach partners who host summer programs will distribute the shoes to the students who attend their programs. Shoes will also be given out to students in need throughout the school year at a local school.

SBC also has strategic partnerships with local schools near each campus in the Paradise Valley, Scottsdale and Cave Creek School Districts. This year, we are adding the option to donate towards a Teacher Gift to help our educators start the year off with what they need most. This will include a $25 Amazon gift card, pens, post-it notes, dry-erase markers, and supplies.

Thank you for making a lasting impact on the lives of these students and teachers and for giving them hope and confidence as they begin a new school year.

Project Partners

Our annual Back-to-School drive continues to have amazing support from our congregation, so this year, we are including these non-profit partners. Each one works with children, hosts a summer program, and provides kids with a new pair of school shoes for their upcoming year.

MentorKids USA

MentorKids USA equips and empowers youth to reach their God-given potential and be transformative leaders in their families and community. They provide Christian after-school programs in the Palomino Neighborhood, offering students in grades 1-12 academic skills, spiritual growth, leadership development, and post-secondary success. Learn more at mentorkids.org.

Neighborhood Ministries

For the past 32 years, Neighborhood Ministries has been actively serving the needs of 500 urban children and their families in Phoenix through their weekly summer program. Kids Club is a two-week, summer day camp held on the Neighborhood Ministries campus. They host hundreds of kids from the community to participate in this life changing experience. Learn more at nmphx.com.
