Serving Sacrificially
Serving, from a biblical expression, is a voluntary act that demonstrates a sense of obligation to others, provided as an expression of worship to God. To serve sacrificially means to PITCH IN:
- Provide – Give to others from your resources of time, treasures, skills, gifts, abilities, and the truth of the Gospel. (2 Cor. 8:1-4)
- Invite – Include others into your church, your home, your life, and into your relationship with Jesus. (Rev. 19:7-9)
- Tell – Share the story of what God has done in you, for you, and through you. (Romans 10:17)
- Coach – Be a mentor, a discipler, an example. Share your knowledge, your wisdom, your understanding. (1 Tim. 3)
- Help – Do what needs to be done, whenever it needs to be done, for as long as it needs to be done. (Luke 19:17)
- Inspire – Serving gives hope, it makes a positive difference in the lives of others. (Matt. 25, 36, 45)
- Nurture – Serving is best accomplished in the context of relationship. (Luke 10:29-37)
A true, winning faith is an active faith that engages the mind, the emotions, and the will. (James 2:2-26)
