Jesus is Our Peace

I recently took a walk and saw an interesting sky. On one side of the street were dark storm clouds. The other side of the street had bright sunshine and pleasant clouds. As I walked down the street, I wanted to stay in the sunshine, but I kept looking with concern at the storm clouds, wondering if I would get caught in the rain. My walking route took me into the sunshine, putting the clouds behind me for a while. As I walked, I thought about the Covid-19 season we are experiencing. I am trying to do all the right things to stay safe, but I keep looking at the news and stats, wondering if I or those I know will be caught in the storm. I realized that perspective is key–am I just looking at the storm, or at the Lord of the storm? Jesus is the One who stills the storms we find ourselves in (Mark 4:35-41), and in this passage He asks the disciples where their faith is. Let us keep looking at the Lord of the storm, who alone can give us peace. As I completed my walking route and faced the storm clouds again, there was a rainbow in the darkest part of the clouds.
