An Unburdened Heart

On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah. –Psalm 62:7-8

Getting real with one another is good. It’s one of the blessings of community. We can share with others our needs, struggles and joys, and know that they will listen and pray with and for us. It can help us see and understand God’s love for us in very real ways.

Getting real with God is even better. David encourages us in Psalm 62 to pour out our hearts before God, because He is a refuge for us. Every day and every hour. In the time of COVID-19 and after. Pouring out our hearts to God follows trusting in Him at all times. When our trust is in Him, we feel safe to unburden our hearts. Let’s pour out our hearts to Him today, with our needs and fears, and flee to our sure Refuge.
