We are so excited to let you know about an amazing opportunity for you and your family to help create a special memory for hurting and vulnerable families. As part of the Winter Wonder “Our Gift to Our Community” SBC is providing a fun-filled carnival with games, activities, entertainment, food and prizes for HopeKids families. HopeKids is a faith-based organization that provides ongoing events, activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. They surround these remarkable children and their families with the message that hope can be a powerful medicine. We need your help to make the carnival a day these families will never forget; a day they will be surrounded by love, smiles, laughter and hope; a day where they can forget about the pain, the sorrow and mountains they climb each day. There are lots of opportunities for you and your family to participate in this wonderful event. Please email, firstname.lastname@example.org receive more information about how you can serve.
This year’s Winter Wonder ticket sales will fund several projects to love and serve kids and families in our community. Thank you for helping us make a difference.
HopeKids provides a unique, supportive and recreational environment for families who have a child with a life-threatening medical condition. SBC will engage with more than 500 HopeKids families to provide a fun-filled carnival with games, activities, entertainment, food and prizes.
Title 1 Schools
Each year, we’ve partnered with local Title 1 schools to provide Christmas assemblies and gifts for thousands of students and teachers. This year, we’re adopting two Title 1 schools in the Paradise Valley School District: Larkspur Elementary and Palomino Primary 1 &2. We will provide Christmas stockings to more than 1,400 children and gifts to the teachers and administrators at each school.
Healthy Packs is a food program for young students in the Scottsdale Unified School District who don’t have enough to eat on weekends. Bags of nutritious food are discretely placed in the children’s backpacks by their teachers to take home over the weekend. This is SBC’s third year participating in this wonderful program.
Partners in Action Glendale Youth Center
Glendale Youth Center is in one of the poorest neighborhoods in Glendale, with 90% of residents living below the poverty line. The Glendale Youth Center offers several after school programs to the youth of this community. SBC will help provide 1,000 Christmas gifts at the Center’s Christmas Experience.
Can I watch the Winter Wonder performances online?
Yes, every Winter Wonder performance will be live streamed and viewable at scottsdalebible.com/live and on the SBC app.
Why are we selling tickets?
Winter Wonder has continued to grow in popularity and attendance each year. Because of this, people have had to wait in long lines not knowing if the auditorium would fill before they reached the entrance. Reserved seating will allow everyone to select a performance and have a guaranteed seat, relieving frustration and the stress of waiting in line.
How will ticket fees be used?
Each year at Winter Wonder, we have offered an opportunity during intermission to give toward Christmas projects focused on making a difference in our community. This year, ticket sales will fund these projects and we will not be taking a special collection.
How much do tickets cost?
Reserved seats are $9 and $16 and are available for online purchase. A small section of free seats at each performance will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
Where can I purchase tickets?
Tickets may be purchased online. If you need assistance or would like to pay with cash or check, one of our associates in the Café/Bookstore can help you purchase tickets.
Are tickets refundable or exchangeable?
All ticket purchases are final. Please carefully select your seats and view the stage from your location before purchasing your tickets. We encourage you to check the view of seats from a variety of locations before making your purchase final. All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, but may be transferred to family/friends or turned in to be donated.
Do I need to print out my tickets?
Although you will select “print at home” as your ticket delivery option, you do not need to bring a printed copy of your ticket to the show. You may simply show your ticket on your mobile device.
How do I receive a free ticket?
A limited number of free tickets (approximately 175) will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis prior to each performance. Distribution will start one hour before each show. Each person in line will be limited to receiving two free tickets. If the entire party is present, each person will receive one ticket.
Are there comp or discounted tickets for volunteers, performers or staff?
Because ticket costs are reasonable and will support worthy causes, we are asking each person to purchase a reserved seat for the show they will attend.
How does this support community outreach?
Community outreach remains a key focus of Winter Wonder. Ticket proceeds will be directed to this year’s selected giving projects. An option to donate to specific projects above and beyond the purchased ticket price will be available on the website during checkout. Because of this option, we will not receive a special collection for community giving projects during Winter Wonder this year.
Is my ticket tax-deductible?
Ticket purchases are not tax-deductible; however, any donation to the specific projects above and beyond the ticket purchase will be deductible, and a confirmation email will be your receipt.
Can my young child sit on my lap?
Children two and under may sit on their parent’s lap. If your child is three or older, we encourage you to purchase a seat for him or her next to you.
Is there designated handicap / special assistance seating?
Yes, there are designated handicap, special assistance and companion seats available at each performance. Doors will open to all guests 40 minutes prior to the start of the show.
Is childcare available?
Yes, free childcare is available for children five and under at all performances. You’ll be able to reserve your child’s spot as part of the ticketing check out process.
How long is each performance?
The performances are just under two hours, including a 15-minute intermission.
Will the Café be open?
Yes, the Café will offer food and beverage items before each performance and during intermission.
Will there be regular church services on the weekends of Winter Wonder (December 1-3 and 8-10)?
Yes, all regularly scheduled services at our campuses will be held.
How can I get involved?
We need hundreds of volunteers to help greet, serve refreshments and care for kids. You may sign up to volunteer at one or more performances here.
