Fatina is a seven year old girl who attends Kondoa Integrity School. Her mother, father, and grandmother all died prior to her beginning school two years ago. She is being raised by her 80 year old great aunt in a mud hut in Kondoa.
January 2007, Fatina entered K1 unable to smile or even be touched by anyone. She was very dirty and malnourished.
February 2008, Several short term mission team members visited her home. Fatina started to smile in school and feel valued.
July 2008, Sharon, one of the same short term mission team members who met Fatina in February 2008, visited Kondoa again. She saw Fatina in our KIS school and noticed a huge difference. Fatina was smiling, clean, and beginning to participate in class. She was learning and being loved by the teachers and classmates.
February 2009, Sharon visited Kondoa again and as she began walking down the path to the classrooms a little girl came running and threw herself into Sharon’s arms. Yes, the little girl who was so poor is now rich with the love of Jesus, love from her teachers, and love from other students at KIS. Fatina sings songs about Jesus at the top of her lungs.
The story is not over yet, we are excited to watch Fatina grow prayerfully into a woman of God. This is the very special prayer of her sponsor Marcia, who loves and prays for Fatina.
