Women

Our theme for the year is Women in Focus. As I have prayed and pondered about our year together, I remembered an experience that I had sometime ago when I attended an event in the Dodge Theater. We were tucked into the Theater in the upper balcony and the stage was very far away. The production started and I strained to see accurately, but was continually distracted by what was around me and my inability to see. Thankfully my friend had brought along a pair of binoculars! Once I focused on the stage through the binoculars I was able to enjoy the performance and the distractions disappeared.

This is not unlike our spiritual life. While God can see the big picture, if we are not focused tightly on Him following His lead, the distractions take our attention away from His plan for our lives! This year we want our focus to be on Christ; ready to follow His lead to the purpose He has called each of us!
