We need you—your talents, your ideas, and your desire to help people with special needs be successful within our community. Please look over the various ways you can be involved as a volunteer and contact us so we can start serving together.

Volunteer in our Classes and for our Programs

We have growing classes and new programs so we need your help as a Teacher, Student buddy, Worship leader, Art/drama leader, Project Light Tutor.

Special Events Team Volunteer

We have monthly events as well as several large events each year. Our monthly events include dances, picnics, bowling nights, movie nights, and more. If you love planning and organizing events like these we could use your help with our existing events and your ideas for new events. If you love to make food or decorate or lead games and activities we want you on our events team.

Camp Volunteer

Our camps require many volunteers serving in a variety of roles.

We need camp buddies, camp nurses, administrative support before and during camp, volunteers to help with music, drama, and sports.

Down Syndrome Network

Down Syndrome Network is hosting open meetings for families of children with special needs aged 0 - 3 years and you are welcome to join us at any time. The meetings will include a chance for parents and children to meet one another. Each meeting will feature a speaker on a topic of particular interest to this age group. There will also be an activity to do with your child. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited to the first 20 families so register at http://dsnearlyintervention.eventbrite.com

Our mission at DSNetwork is to educate, support and advocate for those in our community impacted by Down syndrome. DSNetwork will achieve this goal through an open, supportive and collaborative network that will connect individuals and families with needed resources and information. Our purpose is 1) To provide information to assist people with DS and their families to better understand and arrange for services. 2) To provide networking opportunities for people with DS and their families. 3) To promote greater public understanding of people with DS and the syndrome itself. 4) To effect change in policies and behavior to improve services, education, employment and overall quality of life for people with DS and their families.

United Cerebral Palsy: Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC)

UCP of Central Arizona was awarded a government grant to provide specialized training to infant and toddler care providers. Registration priority is given to caregivers who work in licensed child care or certified family care homes. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. High Functioning Autism Sports League

Phoenix High Functioning Autism / Asperger’s Family Network has a sports and recreation therapy program that finds creative ways for those with High Functioning Autism / Asperger’s to interact with each other. Kids have different play areas where the only rule is that they cannot play solitary games. The goal is socializing and making friends for future play dates.
