Special Ministries

The purpose of Special Ministries at Scottsdale Bible is to ensure that all people, regardless of abilities, have an equal opportunity to respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ and to worship God with the community of believers.

Our classes and events are filled with loving volunteers that joyfully come alongside our students to make them feel welcome and comfortable learning God’s word. We are intentional in our easygoing approach with the students to allow everyone to experience Christ by the teaching and music. Special Ministry adults can visit us on Sunday mornings for Walk with Him Bible study at 9:45 a.m., Monday nights for Amazing Grace Bible study from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and Thursday nights for Thursday Night Live from 6:30-8:00 p.m. for Bible study, worship and fun. SuperKids classes are on Sunday at 9:45 a.m. childcare only, 11:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Bible study, music, and crafts and time to play in our state of the art Sensory Room. Special Ministries offers O.F.F. Night “Our Fun Friday” the first Friday of every month to offer the night “off” for parents or for the whole family to enjoy a night of fun taking a night “off” from Bible study to invite friends who may not usually come to church. Down Syndrome Network

Down Syndrome Network is hosting open meetings for families of children with special needs aged 0 - 3 years and you are welcome to join us at any time. The meetings will include a chance for parents and children to meet one another. Each meeting will feature a speaker on a topic of particular interest to this age group. There will also be an activity to do with your child. There is no cost to attend, but space is limited to the first 20 families so register at http://dsnearlyintervention.eventbrite.com

Our mission at DSNetwork is to educate, support and advocate for those in our community impacted by Down syndrome. DSNetwork will achieve this goal through an open, supportive and collaborative network that will connect individuals and families with needed resources and information. Our purpose is 1) To provide information to assist people with DS and their families to better understand and arrange for services. 2) To provide networking opportunities for people with DS and their families. 3) To promote greater public understanding of people with DS and the syndrome itself. 4) To effect change in policies and behavior to improve services, education, employment and overall quality of life for people with DS and their families.

United Cerebral Palsy: Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC)

UCP of Central Arizona was awarded a government grant to provide specialized training to infant and toddler care providers. Registration priority is given to caregivers who work in licensed child care or certified family care homes. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. High Functioning Autism Sports League

Phoenix High Functioning Autism / Asperger’s Family Network has a sports and recreation therapy program that finds creative ways for those with High Functioning Autism / Asperger’s to interact with each other. Kids have different play areas where the only rule is that they cannot play solitary games. The goal is socializing and making friends for future play dates.
