Veterans/Patriots

There are a number of young men and women who are deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq who are connected to SBC either personally or through their families. We want to remember them and honor them in a couple ways. There is a display in the narthex with their picture, name, rank, and connection to SBC. It is updated about every six months. Also, every Sunday morning following the 1st and 2nd hour services, a small group of us meet under the tree in front of the Media Center to pray for the troops who are “In Harm’s Way”. Please join us.

Throughout the year there are national patriotic days that we schedule events to honor those who have answered the call to defend our freedoms. We do not want to take for granted that our ability to worship as freely as we do is free. Someone paid a price to enable us to do that. On those occasions, we pause to reflect and honor those who served.
