Second Half
What is it all about and what can it do for you?
More importantly, how can you be part of our Second Half Ministry and what can you contribute to Scottsdale Bible Church and your community?
During roughly the first half of our adult lives we raised families, worked hard at tough jobs and did our best for our communities. Then comes the second half, a time when we are better able to devote our past experience, wisdom and much of our new free time to exciting alternatives. And with Americans living longer than ever, we can probably spend more time in the second half of our lives than in the first.
Our goal in the Second Half Ministry is to help you find your way toward using your skills and services for the Kingdom. You are probably ready to go forward, but like most semi-retired or retired people, you don’t know how to do it or where or even what you want to do. We have some answers for you in our new approach to the Second Half of your life.
So far we have identified 25 areas of service at Scottsdale Bible Church and beyond. We’ve begun a hospital visitation program for hospitals and rehab centers, a chorus for those who want to sing favorite hymns, special ushering and hospitality programs, and a seminar series called Life and Living. You probably have more ideas for us as well.
