Short-Term Missions
Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19–20
Scottsdale Bible desires to actively participate in the mandate set forth by our Savior to make disciples of all nations. It is for that very reason that, each year, we send out over 30 short-term mission teams with more than 400 individuals to locations spread out across the globe to partner with our missionaries and agencies.

We participate in a variety of projects in order to share the love of Christ with those who so desperately need to see His grace. Short-term teams participate in many types of projects: computer training, teachers’ workshops, ESL classes, youth camps, marriage and leadership conferences, building and painting projects, ministry to women, camp counselors, and the list goes on.
Short-term teams take us to places where risks for the gospel are rewarded with opportunities to build the Kingdom—a world where those small, risky steps of faith become giant leaps of learning, growth and glory to God! The primary purpose of short-term teams is to grow your faith in Jesus Christ; however, there are many other goals and benefits for which we also strive:
- To influence the world through the living testimonies of team members
- To aid and build up the ministry of the local missionary or pastor
- To assist Scottsdale Bible to be obedient to God’s command expressed in the Great Commission
- To develop long term, strategic relationships throughout the world
- To expand our biblical worldview and provide better awareness of what missions
Short-term teams can do a transforming work in the lives of those who serve. With a passionate heart for the lost, team members are able to partake in something much greater than themselves.

Gonzales missionary family in Mexico
“Over the past seventeen years we’ve hosted over 20 teams from Scottsdale Bible. We’ve received youth groups, medical teams, counselors, prayer teams, women’s retreats and conferences. Without exception, every group has been a blessing to God’s work in Mexico. In November of 2008, a group from the women’s ministry hosted a retreat that blessed 60 Mexican women, many of whom had never stayed at a hotel. Many lives were changed as they were taught God’s plan for his church. Additionally, the group partnered with our women’s ministry to visit, counsel, and pray for the women in our local prison. SBC has a vision to reach the world for Christ and their short-term program reflects their commitment to Jesus’ Great Commission.”–Martin Gonzalez, missionary in Mexico

”Having a team from Scottsdale Bible come to Czech every summer to do English Camps is such an encouragement for me. We have many teams come out from the states, but there is nothing quite like having your home church come out! It is always an extra dose of encouragement and blessing to have my friends and church family out here working along side of me. Not to mention the great work that the team is doing in helping spread the love of Jesus to students here! I am super thankful for the work SBC is doing here in Czech.” – Nate Hughes, missionary in the Czech Republic
