Neighborhood Christian Clinic
There are over half a million people in Phoenix neighborhoods that do not have the means to obtain for themselves primary or specialty medical or dental care. The Neighborhood Christian Clinic was organized by a group of volunteer healthcare professionals to: 1) provide medical and dental healthcare services to the uninsured, underserved community 2) share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ with interested patients and colleagues 3) train and equip healthcare professionals to respectfully share the Gospel and love of Jesus Christ in their daily practice.
By mid-2009 we have already reached over 40,000 patient medical and dental visits, a 13% increase over 2008. We provide on-site comprehensive laboratory testing and ultrasound examinations. We dispense medications at no additional charge. We offer free referrals to radiology centers for basic x-ray and barium studies as well as free or low-cost referrals to a volunteer network of over 45 specialists. Comprehensive dental care is performed including hygiene, fillings, crowns, extractions, and dentures.
Because of our volunteer professionals and the financial donations of others we are able to provide these medical and dental services at a cost to the uninsured patient of only $20 per visit. However, the pressing demand for patient care greatly exceeds the current capacity of the clinic. If you are a medical, dental, chiropractic or pharmaceutical professional or if you can interpret Spanish we need your help. No long term commitments. Work as little as one shift a month.
Would you like to find out more about TNCC? We offer a monthly tour and light lunch to introduce interested individuals to the Clinic. Whether you are a potential volunteer, donor, or just curious please join us on the third Thursday of each month at 11:30 for a one hour tour and lunch. Call 602 254-0445 to reserve a space.
