Prayer Calendar
We invite you to pray each day for a missionary. They need spiritual maturity; their walk with God is vital and your prayers make a difference. Here is a way you can pray each day for our missionaries.
Day One, Relationship with God
Pray—for the missionary to be filled with and work in the power of the Holy Spirit; for a close daily walk with the Lord; for constant nurture through God’s Word; for victory over sin and victorious faith; for vital, supportive home fellowships of believers who are committed to uphold them.
Day Two, Ministry
Pray—for wisdom to contextualize the gospel and Biblical principles in the culture they are ministering to; for receptive hearts; for clear objectives and time to achieve them; for the Lord to bless the missionary’s effort through the power of His Holy Spirit; for ministry opportunities and boldness to seize them; for training that will help them be effective; for fruitfulness; to work hard and effectively to train their successors and help local believers to mature.
Day Three, Physical and emotional needs
Pray—for cultural adjustment in a new location or their return home; good health; God’s comfort through times of loneliness, discouragement, or depression; sufficient financial support; for discernment to resist spiritual attacks made through health, the mind, opponents of the gospel and even other Christian workers.
Day Four, Family
Pray—for single missionaries, loneliness can be a burden. Pray—for a strong support team on the field. For families, life may be made more difficult by living conditions, inadequate amenities or lack of finances or long separations. Pray—for strong relationships; that the missionary and family would be good examples wherever they are.
Day Five, Communication
Pray—that the missionary would learn and use the language and culture effectively; that mistakes made in communication will be minor and have no negative effect on ministry.
Day Six, Country
Pray—for a good, stable political situation; for the government and its leaders; for freedom of ministry; for necessary visas, licenses, and government approvals; for protection.
Day Seven, Working Relationships
Pray—for good relationships with peers and coworkers, their agency or church headquarters and with national workers.
