Middle East

Within the Middle East we are specifically engaged in the following countries:

• Egypt
• Jordan
• Iraq
• Sudan
• United Arab Emirates

In cooperation with the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS), we assist students from several Arab nations with scholarships that enable them to receive their theological training. Upon graduation, we partner with them as they launch ministries in their home nations.

Scottsdale Bible is currently developing a dynamic ministry relationship with a sister church in Cairo, Egypt as we co-labor on projects in the region. We also assist eight international worker families in four Arab nations. Lastly, we are very supportive of the ministry to Arab women through Arab Women Today’s seminars and radio outreach program.

Nabeeh and Ruba Abbassi: JORDAN

Nabeeh and Ruba are both Jordanians of Christian background. Nabeeh became a believer in 1979. He has a BS degree in Computer Science from Yarmouk University in Jordan and earned a ThM from Dallas Theological Seminary. Ruba became a believer while earning a BA in Broadcast Journalism at Yarmouk University. She received her master’s degree in Women’s Studies from Jordan University in 2007. Nabeeh is currently Affinity Group Director of the Middle East region for Christar. Ruba directs the ministries of Arab Women Today. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 2004.

Barry and Abeer Cordova: JORDAN

Barry has been serving the Lord in Amman, Jordan since January 2000. He studied Arabic the first two years and since then has been ministering primarily to Arab leaders through the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary. Barry mentors and provides counsel to the students, leads spiritual formation groups, teaches discipleship and provides leadership for their internships. He also ministers alongside Arab pastors as well, praying with, encouraging and giving godly wisdom for their ministries and lives. Barry met Abeer, an Arab Israeli from Nazareth, at the Seminary while she was there studying music and worship. Now married, Abeer serves among Arabs and Arab churches singing and leading worship as well as ministering part-time with Child Evangelism Fellowship. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 2000.

Joe and Jean Page: UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Joe is Pastor of Evangelism and Discipleship at the Evangelical Community Church (ECC) of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. He is involved in running evangelistic Bible studies with people from Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim backgrounds, as well as unchurched westerners. Joe also trains church members in evangelism and disciples new believers. A favorite aspect of his job is sending workers out from ECC back to their home countries to plant churches. Jean is Joe’s assistant and home-schools their three children. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1995.
