Ignacio and Genoveva Alvarez: MEXICO

Ignacio and Genoveva work with Partners in Christ in northern Mexico. They are influencing the churches by helping pastors be effective in their ministries. Ignacio trains pastors and church leaders in different areas of ministry including coordinating conferences for pastors and leaders, conducting seminars, encouraging youth ministry and stewardship. Genoveva is involved with two of her passions in ministry: women and children. The Alvarez family began serving as national workers in 1988. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1998.

Kristin Beasley: ARIZONA

Kristin is the founder and Executive Director of Greater Reach Ministries. She founded GRM in 2007, after working for 10 years at Phoenix Seminary as Dean of Women and doing international work with her husband, Fred, pastor of Outreach at Scottsdale Bible. Greater Reach’s main mission is to help women know Christ and understand their identity in Him, find and use their gifts to impact the world for Christ. Jeff and Jackie Benedict: INDIANA

The HCJB Global Technology Center in Elkhart, Indiana provides technical support and radio and satellite broadcast equipment for HCJB Global and numerous partner ministries. The overall goal for the Technology Center is to develop the tools and expertise to enable people to turn on their radios and hear the message of the gospel in a language they can understand so they can become followers of Jesus Christ. As an engineer, Jeff will help manage and develop satellite networks to broadcast Christian radio programs around the world, coordinate the installation of VSAT terminals which enable missionaries in remote locations to have high speed Internet access via satellite and will help develop alternative/green energy technologies to help power radio stations. David and Kathy Cottrell: ARIZONA

International Leadership Academies (ILA) began training pastors, church planters and other church leaders in the former Soviet Union in 1992. A project of Campus Crusade for Christ, this ministry has expanded to also serve Asia, Latin America and Africa. Dave and Kathy closed their computer business to join ILA in 1997, developing curriculum to train students globally. The Cottrells love to teach and model God’s Word directly to these leaders around the world. Based in Phoenix, Dave and Kathy also serve at Scottsdale Bible Church through discipleship, counseling, worship and teaching. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 2007.

Wayne and Lesley Emery: ARIZONA

Wayne and Lesley Emery work with International Students Inc., developing and managing their property in Pine, Arizona, which they use as a retreat center for international students. Wayne has been involved in every stage of the building including a prayer trail, fire pit, volleyball court and cabin addition. He provides web-based training for national staff and international students who are returning to their home countries. Lesley is responsible for curriculum development, writing Bible studies, field-testing and training new material. Both are involved in a variety of ways with all the retreats and events held at the retreat center. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1999.

Ray and Lyn Fish: ALASKA

Ray and Lyn serve the Lord in southeast Alaska with Avant Ministries. Their mission is to help people grow in their knowledge and obedience to Christ Jesus through evangelism and discipleship. They do this through a camping experience at Echo Ranch Bible Camp from April to September and classes they teach at a church in Petersburg from October to March. Carol Graham: COLORADO

Carol and John Graham began attending Scottsdale Bible in 1977. In response to God’s calling to missions and the mandate to “grow and go,” they joined Greater Europe Mission in 1984 and served in the Netherlands. They helped establish Tyndale Theological Seminary and Crossroads International Church of Amsterdam. Sensing a calling to a more global ministry, they joined OC International in 1997 where they served together until John’s passing due to cancer in October 2007. Carol continues ministering with OC, serving as Coordinator of Missionary-Donor Relations, serving on the Personnel Interview Committee and mentoring new missionaries preparing for the field. Martin and Susie Gonzales: MEXICO

The Gonzalez family serves as church planters and trainers in La Paz, Mexico. Martin directs a small seminary, preparing men and women for the challenges facing the Mexican church and beyond. He and Susie also lead a church planting project in a neighborhood that is experiencing rapid growth. Their church, El Faro (the Lighthouse) is a new light in a community that desperately needs Jesus. Over the years, Scottsdale Bible has sent many groups and individuals to Baja Mexico to help and encourage the Gonzalez family and to grow God’s Kingdom. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1991.

Herb and Linda Gregg: MEXICO

In June of 2008 Herb and Linda moved to Guadalajara, Mexico to join a new church planting ministry with the Evangelical Alliance Mission. Their part on the team is evangelism, discipleship and leadership training. Their ministry is in large part to the largely un-reached business class which is a big part of the six million population of Guadalajara. They facilitate evangelism and discipleship using home groups (hospitality) as the base of their work. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1980.

Bill and Marna Jones: ARIZONA

Bill and Marna work for American Missionary Fellowship (AMF). Their ministry is establishing and maintaining churches in rural, central Arizona so that the unreached peoples of the United States are able to learn about and follow Jesus. The Jones conduct Bible clubs and vacation Bible schools at many locations as well as a youth Bible camp. Bill travels over 50,000 miles a year ministering to the rural community and churches. Bill and Laurie Keyes: COLORADO

Bill and Laurie have served the Lord with OC International since 1965. They are presently at OC International’s Mobilization Center in Colorado Springs; Bill serves as Director of Special Ministries and Laurie assists as Coordinator of Special Ministries. Together they purpose to motivate and mobilize ministry partners to effectively contribute their efforts in response to the Great Commission. La Puerta Abierta Church: ARGENTINA

Scottsdale Bible began a sister church partnership with La Puerta Abierta (LPA) in Buenos Aries, Argentina in 1993 when over 200 members from our church traveled to Buenos Aries for a three-week mission experience. Since that time we have continued our relationship sending specific teams to LPA for marriage conferences, Steven Ministry training, Youth conferences and many other specific team ministries. There has been a strong commitment between the pastoral staffs and many exchanges have taken place. LPA has input into the life of Scottsdale Bible as they have trained us in evangelism and outreach into the local urban community. There has been and will continue to be a strong collaboration between our churches as we work together to reach into the communities that surround us and to strengthen our churches. Ken and Noreen McElhanon: TEXAS

Ken McElhanon serves with the Wycliffe Bible Translators as a teacher and consultant. He co-translated the Selepet New Testament (Papua New Guinea). He holds a PhD in linguistics from the Australian National University and is a faculty member of the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics in Dallas. He also teaches for the Global Bible Translators, Wycliffe’s affiliate in South Korea, at Handong Global University in Pohang, South Korea. Noreen serves as a counselor and consultant. She holds an MA in social work from the University of Kentucky and an MA in parish counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1992.

Wendy Meredith: MEXICO

Wendy worked at Scottsdale Bible as an intern in Outreach Ministry while attending Phoenix Seminary from 2004–2007. Upon graduation she joined TEAM (The Evangelical Alliance Mission) a worldwide church planting ministry. She will be serving with Martin and Susie Gonzales, long-term missionaries with Scottsdale Bible and El Faro Church in La Paz, Mexico. Wendy will be teaching weekly messages to incarcerated women in the La Paz Prison. She will focus her efforts on training and building a team of women from El Faro to serve alongside her by facilitating small prayer groups. She will disciple college students to embrace the Great Commission and establish a strong foundation in which to live and pass on their faith. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 2008.

Ron and Beth Moe: ARIZONA

Ron and Beth Moe joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1983. From 1992–2002 Ron served as linguistics consultant in Nairobi, Kenya, training and facilitating translators and developing an innovative method for quickly making a massive dictionary of language available at the beginning of translation projects. In 2003 the Moe’s returned to the U.S. to allow Ron to work full-time on the dictionary. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1983.

Stan and Barbara Orth: GUATEMALA

Stan and Barbara have been ministering with CAM International in Guatemala since 1964. Stan teaches New Testament and Spiritual Formation at the Central American Theological Seminary in Guatemala where 1200 Spanish speaking students from 24 countries prepare to serve God in the pastorate, teaching and cross-cultural ministries around the world. He has also been active in evangelistic Bible studies, planting two churches, writing Bible commentaries and discipling students. Barbara leads women’s evangelistic Bible studies, trains and coaches others in this ministry and writes the discussion guides on many books of the Bible for use in these groups. Gary and Char Shingledecker: TEXAS

Gary and Char Shingledecker serve with Wyclilffe Bible Translators at the International Linguistic Center in Dallas, Texas. Gary serves the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics in the library. GIAL is about linguistics, literacy, ethnology, language assessment and development and Bible translation to equip students with the skills to train and serve others. Richard and Carolyn West: INDIANA

From 1973–1980 Richard served in Swaziland, Africa with Trans World Radio, helping build and maintain a new radio station. That first he met Carolyn and they were married in Swaziland. In 1980, the family was transferred to Guam where they served for 21 years. Richard’s responsibilities included construction and grounds upkeep, vehicle and machinery maintenance, antenna rigging, electrical engineering and operating of the transmitters. In 2003 they joined the Trans World Radio team on Bonaire, where they served for four years. In 2007, the family relocated to Elkhart, Indiana where they continue their radio ministry with Trans World Radio at the HCJB Technical Center. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 1976.

Cathy Wilson: ARIZONA

As a missionary with Chosen People Ministries, Kathy introduces Jewish people to Jesus and equips others to do the same. At Scottsdale Bible, multiple classes are offered weekly addressing the Jewish roots of Christianity and how to share Jesus. Cathy’s husband, Bob, who is involved in a homeless ministry at Scottsdale Bible, is active in leading and teaching with her. Worship services and outreaches are fashioned to present Jesus to the large Jewish community in our surrounding neighborhood. She regularly meets one-on-one with Jewish people. They are praying about establishing a storefront mission. Affiliated with Scottsdale Bible since 2001.
