Mairowa Teachers

Daniel Mollel, Head Teacher

Daniel has been with Mairowa Integrity School (MIS) since it began January 2008. He is a graduate of Joshua Teachers Training School and teaches P1 (first grade). His greatest joy in teaching is to see children learn about God as well as their subjects. His greatest challenge is the poverty, pastoral environment, and instilling within the parents the importance of education. Daniel is a single young man with a wonderful smile and attitude.

Loomoni Silas Mitamei

Loomoni is a married man with three children who lives in Mairowa during the week and visits his family in Arusha every two to three weeks on weekends. He has been teaching at Mairowa Integrity School (MIS) since January 2008 and graduated from Joshua Teachers Training School. Loomoni teaches P2 (second grade), and feels his greatest joy is “seeing the children changing from their traditional culture to God’s Culture–knowing who God is and what he wants us to do.” His greatest challenge is language. The children speak Maasi and maybe some Swahili, and he must teach them in English. Loomoni never knows in which of the three languages they are hearing him!

Moses Ntuala

Moses is a married man with three children and seven years of teaching experience. He teaches P2 (second grade) at Mairowa Integrity School (MIS). He prayed for a job within walking distance of his family and was hired at MIS – a five hour walk home each way each weekend across the border into Kenya! Moses loves God deeply and sees many changes in the attitudes about God in his students. He walks long distances to visit their homes and encourage and share with the parents.

Emmanuel Tarangei (Mzze)

Mzze is a single man who graduated from Joshua Teacher Training School in 2009 and is now full time at Mairowa Integrity School (MIS) teaching K2 (kindergarten). His greatest joy is seeing the children learning to love God and speak English, as it is their major way out of poverty in the future. His greatest challenge is the living conditions in Mairowa with no electricity, running water, stores, or things to do outside of the school environment.

Amani Nicolas

Amani is a vivacious and outgoing young man who excelled in his courses at Joshua Teachers Training School and has a keen interest in science. He came to Mairowa Integrity School (MIS) in 2009 to teach P1 (first grade). His greatest joy is teaching worship with music, prayer, and Bible stories in English each day and seeing the children grow in the Lord. Living conditions in Mairowa are hard, but Amani fills the evening hours by candlelight or kerosene lantern reading his three books – a Bible and physics and math textbooks.

Maria John

Maria is the mother of two children and walks a long distance to teach our Mairowa Integrity School (MIS) K1 (prekindergarten). Although she is not as well educated as the other teachers, Maria more than makes up for it with her love and concern for the children, her love for teaching them about God using action songs and music, and her desire to improve her teaching methods in whatever way she can. Maria is deeply concerned about these tiny four and five year olds walking often five or more miles daily through the desert filled with wild animals in order to get to school and she prays for their safety.
