Kondoa Teachers
Elisha Elikana, Headmaster
Elisha retired from a career of over 30 years of teaching and administration in elementary schools, including teaching in a Teachers College in Tanzania. It was a true gift from God when he agreed to come out of retirement and commit to four years as headmaster at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS) when the man who was to begin the school left. Elisha is a widower with four grown children, a tremendous man of God, and a leader both spiritually and academically for the teachers as well as the students.
Jonas Michael, Academic Dean
Jonas is one of our original four teachers at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS). He is a graduate of Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS). He serves as both the Academic Dean and a P2 (second grade) teacher. Jonas is most importantly known as the “change agent” for KIS! Anything Scottsdale Bible suggests and teaches he is willing to try. In 2008 Jonas established the OLPC computer program and has all 90 first and second grade students using a computer for the first time. He is using and teaching the Firm Foundations (New Tribes Mission) Bible teaching material. This teaching material covers from Genesis to Revelation in sequence as a foundation for learning how to read and 70 percent of the children are other than Christian. Jonas and his wife Monika and new baby Naomi are active in their church where Jonas has eight jobs. He is active!
Epiphania Barnabas
Eppy is a new teacher in 2009 at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS). She graduated in May 2009 first in the class at Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS). Eppy loves the Lord, children, math, and science – in that order! Eppy teaches K1 (pre kindergarten) at KIS and is exceptionally creative in the way she teaches. She is a part of the Science Pilot Project from Scottsdale Bible. Eppy is active in her church also, and worships God with great enthusiasm.
Elisha Elias
Elisha teaches P2 (second grade) at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS), having recently graduated from Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS). Elisha loves both teaching the children and playing soccer with them. His greatest prayer is for the parents; that they will continue to allow their children to learn about God. He finds teaching children with learning disabilities challenging, but he is being creative in learning new ways to teach them.
Grace Goodluck
Grace teaches K2 (kindergarten) at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS). She came to us two years ago experienced in teaching primary grades and ready to begin immediately. Grace did not graduate from Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS) as did the other KIS teachers, but has excellent teaching skills and she is a wonderful Christian and teacher, much loved by the children. She has had a challenge finding Christians to board with and she asks for our prayers in this area.
Leah Ismail
Leah is a convert from another faith and loves Jesus very much. She is a K2 (kindergarten) teacher at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS) and a 2009 graduate of Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS). She loves to teach the children about God and visit them in their homes to understand them better. Leah is deeply concerned about the economic problems facing the families of her students. Her greatest personal challenge was being asked to leave her family due to her religious beliefs and she requests our prayers in this matter.
Joshua K.M. Hhando
Joshua teaches P1 (first grade) at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS). He is a 2009 graduate of Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS) and he is a true artist in many areas. Joshua loves to draw illustrations for lessons and spends his free time (recess) frequently one on one with the children teaching them to draw. Joshua also loves music, both singing and playing instruments, and dreams of “preparing a choir team” to travel and represent God and KIS. His sincere desire is to “live cooperatively with the different religions” in the surrounding community.
Agnes Mkambu
Agnes joined the Kondoa Integrity School (KIS) staff as one of the original four teachers in September 2005. She graduated from Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS). In addition to teaching K1 (pre-kindergarten), Agnes is also the lead teacher for K1 and K2. She loves the children and desires to visit their homes and be a help in this very poor community. Agnes is very active as the worship leader in her church and has a strong desire to serve God and win people to Christ.
Suzana Peter
Suzana is a lovely and quiet woman who loves God and her students in K2 (kindergarten) at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS). She is a 2009 graduate of Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS). Suzana desires most to “develop the students’ talents and help them to understand both their subjects and the ways of the Lord thru Bible study.” She loves creativity and would love to be a pastor as well as a teacher.
Arapha Suleman
Arapha is a P1 (first grade) teacher at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS). She is a 2009 graduate of Joshua Teacher Training School (JTTS) who loves to teach the “Word of God and English”. Arapha wants to help the children understand God’s ways and express them to their families. She converted from another faith and understands God’s love very clearly and his promise to sustain her, even when her family no longer acknowledges her. Arapha has three lovely children of her own.
Samuel Yonah
Samuel is a quiet young man with a great interest in science and math, who has taken a sincere interest in the Scottsdale Bible science teaching program. He teaches P2 (second grade) at Kondoa Integrity School (KIS) and is deeply loved by the children. He is a 2009 graduate of JTTS. His love for God and the children is seen by his servant heart as he serves lunch to the children and plays soccer with them.
