Professional Staff
These professionals are employed staff of Scottsdale Bible Church and are here to serve you through our counseling ministry.
David Walther, Pastor of Counseling
David is a Licensed Professional Counselor with an M.A. in counseling psychology and Christian studies and a M.Div. with an emphasis in Biblical communication. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in AZ, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. David has been on staff at Scottsdale Bible since 2000.
He provides marriage and individual counseling. David loves the adventure of following Christ with his wife, Sharon and their children, Simeon and Naomi.
Nonie Maupin
Nonie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with her master’s degree in social work. She is also certified as an Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has practiced as a staff counselor for Scottsdale Bible Church since 1995. She provides individual counseling.
Nonie also authored a book called The Head to Heart Card, which reflects her passion to teach others to have a Truth encounter with their Savior, Jesus Christ. In her free time she is an avid reader, loves to hike with friends, and spends time with her family.
Nonie and her husband, Joel, have been married for 47 years, and they have two married children and five grandchildren.
Kerry Failoni
Kerry recently completed her Master’s in Professional Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor.
She has called Scottsdale Bible her church home since 1981. She had the privilege of joining the Scottsdale Bible counseling staff in 2001 as the Intake Coordinator and Case Manager.
While Kerry’s primary job focus is intakes, she also counsels women and supervises Practicum/Intern students. Her free time is spent with family (two daughters) and friends. A good book is also never far from her reach!
Rachel Bauer, Office Manager
Rachel joined the Counseling Center staff in March 2008. Rachel’s desire is to use her skills and experience as an executive assistant to serve Scottsdale Bible Church and the surrounding community. She holds an associate’s degree in business.
Trained as a Stephen Minister, Rachel has served in the DivorceCare ministry at Scottsdale Bible since 1999, having been the team leader for the DivorceCare facilitators since 2002.
Rachel has four children and nine grandchildren and enjoys reading, flower gardening and spending time with friends.
