Sunday programming, mid-week discipleship at AWANA and summer Vacation Bible eXperience each provide a place for children to get to Know God through creative Bible teaching, fun age-appropriate life application activities, worship, prayer and small groups.
Many distractions vie for our kids’ attention every day. The great news is that God has given us His Word to know how to Choose Well! In all KCRG venues we are intentional about equipping children with the biblical tools they need to make wise choices. Additionally, we have a special weekend retreat for third- and fourth-grade students, Camp 34-Choose Your Path, to further equip our kids to be prepared when faced with tough decisions.
The Bible talks very specifically about serving others and we want to help kids see that they too can serve God—all they have to do is Reach Out! Every year, KCRG adopts a local outreach ministry in which our children and families participate together to provide support, service and encouragement to those in-need in our community. Currently, KCRG is partnered with Feed My Starving Children to help feed hungry children all over the world.
Partnering with a global ministry is one of our favorites at KCRG—it’s how we Go Tell! Every year we adopt a missionary family that our church supports and connect them to the children. During the course of the year, we may have a fundraising project to provide a special gift for this family, write letters of appreciation and spend time learning about their world and what they do. Currently, KCRG is supporting the Floyd family who serve in a creative-access country.
Channel 365—The Family Channel
We believe that parents are the primary spiritual nurturers of their children—especially when you consider that they are only with us at KCRG for an average of 40 hours per year. At Channel 365, our goal is to maximize every opportunity to partner with parents to enhance their child’s spiritual growth. In preparation for Parent-Child Dedications we host a Legacy class to help parents learn how to leave a godly legacy for their children. We also host a Baptism Class for kids in grades 1–4 and their parents to help prepare for this special event. Our families come together once a quarter for Family Nite Dinner and are entertained by our Family Quest drama team. And, in December, our annual Winterfest event invites community members to our campus for a Christmas celebration unlike no other!
One God, One Vision, One Team! Our amazing volunteer team, Channel 1, is the most vital part of our ministry, acting as hands and feet of Jesus! God is continually leading men and women of all ages to be active participants in sharing His Word with our children, forever changing the lives of kids at Scottsdale Bible.
