Elders
Kory Schuknecht, Chairman

Kory Schuknecht accepted Christ as a teenager at Saguaro High School through the ministry of Young Life. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business from Arizona State University. Kory is General Manager of Sportlite Inc, a commercial/industrial light fixture manufacturer.
He served as an Elder for Scottsdale Bible on two previous occasions and once at Northridge Community Church (our church plant). Over the years, he taught/served in Children’s Ministry, High School, College, Home Fellowship and several enrichment classes. He currently co-teaches with Tim Kimmel in the Faithful Families class. Kory and his wife, Gail, have four children and have been at Scottsdale Bible since 1976.
Jeff Goble, Vice Chairman
Jeff Goble came to faith in Christ at the age of 9 while his family was living in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Arizona State University, and is currently President of a medical device manufacturing company—manufacturing specialty infusion therapy products for the U.S. and international markets.
While in college, Jeff was on the Scottsdale Bible High School and Junior High staff; he and his wife were class leaders of the Genesis II enrichment class, served on all of Scottsdale Bible’s capital campaigns over the past 15 years—taking on the chairmanship of both the Joshua Challenge and Enlarge our Hearts projects, member of the first Timothy Ministry class and has served on the Executive Pastor and Worship Pastor search committees over the last year. Jeff has attended Scottsdale Bible Church since 1972; this is his fourth term as elder—serving as Vice Chairman. He is married to Tracy and they have two children. Jeff and his family are avid scuba divers and love to travel.
Matt Everroad, Secretary
Matt Everroad received Christ as his Savior in college. God used his wonderful family to lay the foundation, as well as key friends and a college pastor to share the good news with him. He earned a BS in Accounting and Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona. Matt currently serves as the managing director of Rauch, Hermanson & Everroad, Ltd, a certified public accounting firm.
Matt and his wife, Janna, have been attending Scottsdale Bible Church since they were married in 1995. They have served in a number of volunteer positions, including the leadership team in Faithful Families enrichment class, facilitating home fellowships and participating with short-term missions teams to Morocco and Tanzania. He is on the board of MAD Ministries, a local Christian urban outreach, and the Kuns Foundation which grants scholarships to seminaries for students desiring to pursue mission work. Matt is a Timothy Leadership Training graduate. Their three children—Haley, Jack and Charlie—are now an integral part of their small group family fellowship whose focus is on serving together as families and equipping the next generation of believers.
Warren Soberg, Treasurer
Warren Soberg came to faith in Christ in the eighth grade. His Bachelor of Science is in Quantitative Systems, College of Business at ASU. Warren ’s business history includes sales and sales management for both Burroughs and Sperry Corporations, eight years as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a computer leasing company, creator of Vector Technology (computers, software, technical services), part owner of a restaurant, along with other real estate and financial investments.
Warren has sung in the Scottsdale Bible choir for over 20 years, was an Awana leader for five years and taught home Bible studies. He and his wife Margaret have been foster parents to 35 children over the last 13 years and are currently actively involved with Christian Family Care Agency, having served on their board, along with Neighborhood Ministries and The Neighborhood Clinic. Warren is a former Elder Board Chairman. He and his wife have three daughters.
Barry Asmus
Barry Asmus has been a Christ-follower for over 40 years. He has a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree in economics, was a professor of economics for 15 years and is now the Senior Economist at the National Center for Policy Analysis. Named by USA Today as one of the five most requested speakers in America, Barry speaks to diverse audiences all across the world.
He and his wife Mandy have been active with Young Life, as enrichment class teachers, members of a home fellowship and active with many of the ministries at Scottsdale Bible. Barry has served a number of terms on the Elder Board, is involved with the Timothy Ministry and for the past eight years has been used by the Outreach Ministry to raise money for Men’s Building Projects and missionary efforts during his annual economic forecast event. Barry and Mandy have two children and three grandchildren.
Bill Cavness
Bill Cavness made an official declaration of faith at a church camp when he was 7. He earned a BBA in Business Management from Baylor University, and in the 16 years prior to his current position as Director of Operations for Family Matters—a ministry committed to equipping parents to build grace-based families—was in commercial construction.
Bill and his wife Amy have been attending Scottsdale Bible Church since they were married in 1992, and have served in a number of volunteer positions, including the leadership team in Faithful Families enrichment class, leading home fellowships and short-term missions teams for high school and somanorth to the Czech Republic for the last four years. Bill is a Timothy Leadership Training graduate. They have three children—Aly, JD and Will—and a dog, who is arguably a member of the family.
Keith Frey
Keith Frey came to faith in Christ in 1982 as the result of a Bible study with neighbors. Keith earned a BS from Virginia Military Institute, an MD from Medical College of Virginia and an MBA from Duke University. He completed his Family Medicine residency training in the USAF. He is currently the Chief Medical Information Officer and Professor of Family Medicine, Mayo Clinic Arizona. He previously held medical school faculty positions at Duke University and University of Washington.
Keith has worshipped at Scottsdale Bible since moving to Scottsdale in 1999, and volunteers at the Neighborhood Christian Clinic. He held an elder position in his former church, chaired the board of a Crisis Pregnancy Center, and has been active in discipleship ministry and small group Bible studies. He and his wife, Melanie, have been married for 32 years. They currently serve together in our Marriage ministry, have co-led marriage teams on short-term mission trips, and are the mission coordinators for the Christian Essentials Enrichment Class. They have an adult daughter.
Dave Hall
Dave Hall trusted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was 36 while working in Chicago. He graduated with a BA from DePauw University and an MBA from the University of Southern California. Dave was Senior Vice President for sales and marketing for Time Systems in Phoenix.
Since 1992 he has been totally involved in Christian service. He leads three weekly Bible studies, and has served on many boards, including his 17 years as Chairman of the Luis Palau Association.
Dave and his wife, Kathleen, have attended Scottsdale Bible since 1986. They have two daughters and seven grandchildren.
Tim Kimmel
Dr. Tim Kimmel is the Executive Director of Family Matters—a national ministry committed to seeing families transformed by through the power of God’s grace into instruments of reformation and restoration. He married his high school sweetheart, Darcy, in 1972. He received a Bachelor of Arts, Bryan College, Masters of Theology, Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry, Phoenix Seminary.
Tim and Darcy have four children and two grandchildren. Tim speaks all over the U.S. on the subject of marriage and family. He’s written 11 books and has produced numerous video curriculums for churches.
The Kimmels have served in many capacities at Scottsdale Bible. Tim was our youth pastor from 1976–80. Tim co-taught the Faithful Families enrichment class for over 12 years. He is the elder liaison to the family ministries of Scottsdale Bible Church, occasionally fills the pulpit, and teaches in the adult enrichment department of our church in various capacities. Tim and Darcy have attended Scottsdale Bible Church since 1976.
Steve Linamen
Steve Linamen accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a church youth camp when he was 8 years old. He received his B.A. from Anderson College in Computer Science and Math. He currently works for Charles Schwab and Company as a disaster recovery planner for their IT organization.
He has served two previous terms as an elder. Steve is currently leading a home fellowship and has taught Sunday school and enrichment classes and served in Awana and the Outreach and Finance areas. Steve and his wife Catherine have attended Scottsdale Bible since 1985 and have four children.
Jack Markle
Jack Markle was 27 years of age when he accepted Christ as Savior. He is the previous president of Center Rental and Sales in Denver, Colorado and from 1997–2000, Senior Vice President of Operations and Strategy and Chief Information Officer for Rental Service Corporation in Scottsdale. Jack has been involved in a variety of real estate ventures, private investments and consulting services since January 2000.
He and his wife Pammy have attended Scottsdale Bible Church for many years, and in addition to having served as Chairman of the Elders, Jack also has provided extensive consulting and demographic studies for Scottsdale Bible. He also serves as Chairman of the board for the Center for Arizona Policy. Jack and Pammy have three sons.
Jay Snyder
Jay Snyder received Christ in the fourth grade at a camp where his parents were sponsoring a high school youth group. He attended Azusa College, now Azusa Pacific University, where he later served on the board of Trustees for eight years. Jay is a partner in Snyder Nationwide Real Estate, a national hotel brokerage firm based here in the Valley.
Jay attended Bethany Bible Church for 25 years where he served two terms on the board and chaired the youth council and high school minister search committee. He serves on the board of Dave Dravecky’s Outreach of Hope, Center for Arizona Policy and for the past 29 years Abundant Life, started with Larry Wright. He was chairman of National Family Legal Foundation, a national first amendment legal ministry now a part of The Alliance Defense Fund. Jay and his wife Diana have attended Scottsdale Bible for the past 18 years. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
Mark Snyder
Mark Snyder accepted Christ as Savior with his parents at home in 1975 after hearing a lesson earlier that morning in church that spoke to his heart. He attended Azusa Pacific University with a major in Business Administration and is currently President of Snyder Nationwide Real Estate Inc., a multi-faceted real estate company specializing in brokerage of resorts and hotels through the U.S., and the development and acquisition of privately owned hotels.
He has attended Scottsdale Bible Church since 1992, and is currently chairing on the Scottsdale Bible Building Facilities Council, which is as an elder-run subcommittee dealing with building renovation, expansion and all other facility items. Mark is a Timothy Leadership graduate in the Alpha program. He and his wife Robin are leaders in the Strong Families enrichment class and have three children—Tee, Clara and Jacob.
