Student Ministry Rummage Sale

Friday 3 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m.–3 p.m.

We’re hosting our fifth annual rummage sale to raise funds for our summer high school and college missions trips. We have eight teams made up of more than 200 students and staff going to Argentina, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Slovakia, Span, Tanzania and two different teams to Wales. Club 56 Family Barbecue

Get ready for our third annual Club 56 Family Barbecue, Friday, May 13, 6 p.m. at Scottsdale Ranch Park, Ramada #9.
We invite the incoming fourth graders and their families to join us. The evening will include dinner, games and lots of time to hang out and get to know new friends and enjoy old ones.

Student Ministry Family Night

Club 56, Impact and High School ministries will gather for an evening of baseball, friends and fun as we watch the Arizona Diamondbacks take on the Houston Astros.

Bring your friends and family and meet us at Chase Field for a great night at the ballpark.

Club 56 Summer Camp Recap

June 22-26 Club 56 had an opportunity to escape Phoenix and head up north for our annual summer camp. It was so exciting to watch 5th & 6th grade students connect with other students, volunteer staff and more importantly God.

Our theme this year was Boot Camp Special Forces where students were place on 1 of 4 teams: The Army Ranger, The Navy Seals, The Marines or The Green Berets. The entire week was a team competition where students earned point for their team. Our speaker for the weekend was our own Jason Fischer, high school Director at SBC, who did a fantastic job at communicating God’s word the entire weekend. Camp was a great experience for all of our staff and students who had an opportunity to learn more about God and build new relationships. God was good to us as we had 21 5th & 6th grade students give their live to Christ over the week. Praise god, here some pictures from the week of non-stop action:

Short Term Missions - Alaska

Carol Hubner, Administrative Assistant in Student Ministries, shares with Dave Porter about a recent short term missions trip taken by our students.

She tells of students getting out of their comfort zones, lumberjack training, midnight sunshine, and witnessing eight young lives brought to new life through Jesus Christ.

Carol tells us that in many cases these short term missions trip change lives and create very special life-long memories.

Short-Term Mission Team Commisioning

Intern Tommy Marquez and high school student Daniel Weser talk about their upcoming mission trips to Alaska and Argentina. Tommy has been an intern with the high school ministry since summer ’08 and will be leading his first mission trip this summer. Daniel is a sophomore in the high school ministry and will be serving on his second mission trip this summer.
