Family Nite Dinner featuring Family Quest, 5:30–6:30 p.m., Town Centre

Family Nite Dinner Featuring Family Quest is a great way to share a friendly meal with your Scottsdale Bible family while enjoying an engaging, dramatic performance. This year’s theme, “The Ultimate Amazing Race,” will feature multiple stages—bringing the action closer to our families! Each dinner will feature a different menu, or you are welcome to bring your own meal and join us for a great time of community and family entertainment.

AWANA

AWANA is a super-fun weekday program for kids from age three through 6th grade that integrates high-energy games, lively worship and large group sessions, interactive small groups and more from September to May. The name AWANA comes from 2 Timothy 2:15 which says, “Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” While they are having fun, children will not only learn to memorize key Bible verses that will forever be hidden in their hearts, but also will build new friendships and well-developed peer and leader relationships in the process. Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University

We are proud to offer the 13-week Financial Peace University class created by Dave Ramsey, noted financial and biblical advisor. This class is held at the Chapel two blocks east of the main campus. The average person taking this class reduces their debt by $3,500 and saves $1,000. The fee is $99 for a single or couple. This 10-week study offers you the information and tools you will need to understand what is wrong in your relationship and begin the process of correcting it. $tart Up Class for Young Adults (up to age 30)

This six-week course is designed to provide Young Adults with a financial foundation for life which addresses your unique needs. First time purchases like a home or car, furnishing an apartment, paying off student loans and proper use of debt are examples of the unique challenges facing this group. Worship Choir and Orchestra Rehearsal

Do you have a love of the Lord and a special talent in music? If so, our ministry is just for you! Our choir features over 100 vocalists and auditions are not required. For those wishing to join the orchestra, an audition is required and can be scheduled by calling 480.824.7317. We ask that everyone make at least two service commitments on Sundays and attend all rehearsals whenever possible. To find the rehearsal rooms, park in the south parking lot, come to the south patio and enter through the doors on the west end. From there, follow the sound of busy voices and laughter. Walk Worthy Bookstore, open until 7 p.m.

The bookstore has a select inventory with a specific purpose to help people come meet Jesus and provide materials for their next step. For more information contact Marian Newman at 480.824.7333.

Parent/Child dedication services are scheduled periodically throughout the year during our Sunday services. Participants need not be church members but need to be able to answer “yes” to the following questions:

1. Do you acknowledge your child as a gift from God?
2. Do you commit yourself to live a godly life before your child so that he or she will have an example to follow?
3. Do you commit yourself to give your child opportunity to hear the gospel so that he or she might be able to have a personal relationship with Christ?
4. Do you commit yourself to raise your child in the instruction and discipline of the Lord?

AWANA meets at Scottsdale Bible on Wednesday nights from 6:30–8 p.m. Classrooms open at 6:15 p.m. to receive children.

Serving as an AWANA volunteer is a rewarding experience. We encourage you to join your child each week and serve alongside other faithful leaders in helping to equip our children to be the next generation of Christ followers.

Medications

please do not pack your child’s medications in their camp gear. Bring all medications in their original containers to check–in on Friday, July 9 and give to to the nurse, who will administer to your child at camp.

On July 24 we had a great time at our family outreach event filling the backpacks with everything on the Phoenix Rescue Mission school supply list. In less than one hour our wonderful volunteers had all 200 backpacks filled and all of the extra school supplies boxed up and ready for Phoenix Rescue Mission to pickup. In addition to filling the backpacks with the required school supplies each backpack will also have a special note of love and encouragement for the child who receives the backpack. Our volunteers took the time to pray over all of the backpacks and then write out these wonderful notes, many with colorful drawings from the children who participated in this event. This was a wonderful family outreach event with children as young as two helping to put items into backpacks carried by their parents. After all the backpacks were filled we enjoyed some fellowship with snacks and refreshments. Thanks to all of the volunteers who joined us for this fun service opportunity!

Here is a thank you note we received from Phoenix Rescue Mission about this drive:

Our final count shows we received 201 filled backpacks from Scottsdale Bible. Whoo Hoo! That does not include all the extra supplies that were sent in as well. Thank you for the many things your ministry does to help PRM further the work of the Lord! There will be a lot of happy faces when these beautiful backpacks are handed out. God bless you and please thank your members for their generosity.

The goal of Awana is to give boys and girls the chance to know, love and serve God. While it’s a serious mission, we believe having fun in the process is a great tool for reaching young people. Awana is a proven way to impact our communities and train children for leadership.
