Elder Leadership
The government of this church, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is vested in the Elder Board, whose authority is derived from the body of believers who compose this church. Only men who are members of Scottsdale Bible Church, who are of high Christian character and integrity, who maintain an exemplary reputation, who demonstrate leadership in the ministry of the church, and who possess the qualifications in Titus 1:6–9; and I Timothy 3:1–7 may be elected as Elders.
Responsibilities
The Elder Board is responsible for the governance and oversight of the affairs of the church. Working in conjunction with the Pastors, they are responsible to ensure that the mission and ministries of Scottsdale Bible are consistent with biblical directives and principles. The Elder Board approves the annual budget and supervises the raising, receiving and disbursement of funds to support the ministries of Scottsdale Bible.
Terms
Elders are elected by church members for a term not to exceed four years. A sitting Board is composed of at least 12 and no more than 20 voting members. The term of approximately one-fourth of the Elders expires each year. An Elder who has served a four-year term is not eligible for re-election to the Elder Board until one year has elapsed from the end of his most recent term.
