It’s time to get ready for the Tour de New River 2008! The event will take place on November 1, 2008.

        Tour de New River is an annual bike tour event in Arizona that rallies together cyclists from a variety of different backgrounds and experiences in order to bring an end to the cycle of poverty in Tanzania, Africa.

The theme for the bike ride is “Transformation through Education.” By getting involved and riding your bike, you will make a lasting impression on the families and children of two impoverished communities of Tanzania, Kondoa and Mairowa. All entry fees and additional donations given or raised by individual cyclists will go to help these communities by:

•    Improving the quality of education for hundreds of children
•    Increasing the level of food nutrition for families
•    Bringing awareness to health and hygiene issues
•    Liberating women from the bonds of tribal practices

Entry Fee for the bike ride is $80 per cyclist. If $650 is raised in donations by the cyclists, he/she will receive a free event jersey, otherwise a jersey can be purchased for $75 additional dollars.

KIDS FUN HIKE EVENT

In conjunction with the Bike Event, the annual Children’s Hike event will also be taking place. This gives your children an opportunity to raise funds for other children in a foreign land while releasing some of that built-up energy on their trek up Pinnacle Peak! Contact the Outreach Department or Children’s Ministry Department for more details on how your children can participate in this worthy cause!

2007 DISCOUNTED JERSEYS FOR SALE

We have a few jerseys from last year’s event still available. We are selling them on a first come first serve basis for a discounted rate of $40 per jersey instead of the $75 initially charged. Please contact the Outreach Department, 480.824.7245 to check and see if your size is still available.
