Thank you for choosing to be part of our ministry! Leading people in worship each week is a holy and awesome responsibility and we are very excited about how God uses all of us as we commit our gifts and talents to serving Him. Countless hearts and lives are impacted through our music ministry. More importantly, our own lives are renewed and transformed as we give ourselves to total worship of our great God!
Being involved in the Worship Arts ministry presents a unique opportunity to serve at Scottsdale Bible Church. God has called you to not only minister on a regular basis to the entire church, but also to be an example in behavior and character to fellow believers. Setting a good example in thought, word and deed involves growing in Christ, responding to others in love, sharing the gospel with unbelievers and fulfilling our commitments—especially when it comes to the area of ministering.
We expect that all who join the Worship Arts Ministry will make a strong commitment to attend all rehearsals and services. Of course, emergencies and unforeseen circumstances do arise. Honoring your commitment can be just as important as your musical ability when it comes to the effectiveness of your personal testimony.
Attendance Policy
Each member is expected to attend all rehearsals and all services except in the case of illness, travel or unforeseen conflicts. When you have to be absent, please contact your section leader to help us with planning. If you miss a Sunday, keep rehearsal attendance consistent because we are always working ahead. Likewise, if you miss a rehearsal, plan to participate the following Sunday as we rehearse music several weeks in advance.
- If you serve in other ministry areas such as children’s choirs or in an enrichment class, you are excused during that service.
- Those with small children, physical limitations or other special circumstances have the option of serving during two out of three morning services if necessary.
- New members must participate in two rehearsals before singing or playing in Sunday morning services.
Sunday Service Procedures
We are privileged to be leaders of worship—let that guide your thoughts and attitudes. Talking should end as you leave the rehearsal area. Enter the platform with an attitude of worship. Please do not wear any perfume, cologne or after-shave out of consideration to many with allergies or asthma. Park in the south campus lot and use your key cards to gain access to the Worship Center.
Choir: Sunday morning call is 7:50 a.m. sharp! Plan to arrive before that for special instructions and to put your music in order. Remember to check the white boards in the robing area and rehearsal rooms for special instructions.
Orchestra: Sunday morning call is 7:30 a.m. sharp! Please plan to arrive before that to ready your instrument and music and find your seat.
