The mission of the Communication Department is to provide clear, concise, consistent communication to draw, compel and retain key audiences. The reason we exist is to emphasize ministries in a way that helps Scottsdale Bible Church consistently develop devoted followers of Jesus—who glorify God and expand His kingdom.

At present, we are using a number of methods to achieve our mission, namely,

• The development of a strong visual and verbal identity system that crosses and includes all departments, locations and venues.
• An increase in church-wide communication that supports branding, spotlights departments, welcomes visitors, informs constituents and portrays professionalism.
• A provision for training and communication processes for communication elements.
• Numerous processes to get the pulse of communication needs and capitalize on opportunities/mechanisms.

Our target audience includes all existing and potential Scottsdale Bible attendees. Our department is unique in that it serves and crosses all departmental lines, locations and venues. We are mutually dependent on each another for successful communication—we depend on each department to infuse us with information, and the departments depend on us to highlight their ministries.

Deadlines, accuracy and creativity drive everything we do. Bulletins, Compass, receptionists, platform announcements, signage, welcome material, website and event publicity are just a few of the things for which we are responsible. The human resources area also falls into this department.
