Ask A Question

Q: I am sure you have heard of the great debate over the issue of using otherwise discarded human embryos for research purposes. As a Christian medical researcher, I have been struggling with this issue(is it okay considering that the embryos would otherwise be discarded) and was wondering what you or the church or the Bible has to say about this subject. Thanks!

A: Since life begins at conception and we are created in God's image (Gen. 1:27). Therefore, we are "image bearers" of the Creator and thus, it would be unethical to destroy life that is created and designed to bear God's image which also simultaneously destroys God's purpose for that life
