Q: The best seller list includes a book by Michael Drosnin titled "Bible Code II". This is a theory that the Bible has been coded to foretell all events both past and future. It is predicting a world 'end of times' for 2006. How does SBC view the Bible Code?

A: No evangelical Biblical language scholars are taking the Bible codes very seriously because virtually anything can be read into it and secondly the predictions tend to always be interpreted after, not prior, to the events. Thus, at SBC, although we are glad that people are interested in the Bible we do not recommend the Bible Code series by Drosnin as a credible study of the Bible nor eschatology.
