Q: What is the church's opinion on girls wanting to be thin, to the point of death?

A: Our bodies are created in the image of God (Gen. 1:27) and it is our position that to deny the physical body the necessary nourishment is poor stewardship of God's special creation (1 Cor. 3:16, 17). God also expects us to utilize our common sense and since we only get one body, it is important that we take good care of it so that we can be as resourceful as possible in modeling Christ-like behavior to non-believers.
